Who we are

Redmoon Randomizers (redmoonrandomizers.com) is operated by Redmoon Software, a small independent software studio based in Wellington, New Zealand. Redmoon Software is the data controller for the limited information described below. You can reach us at any time at feedback@redmoonsoftware.com.

The tools do not send your input anywhere

Every randomizer on this site is a static HTML page plus a small amount of JavaScript. When you paste a class roster into the team generator or a list of names into the wheel, that text is held in your browser’s memory and read by code running on your device. It is not posted to a server, not written to a log, and not visible to us.

The randomness itself is generated locally too, using the browser’s built-in crypto.getRandomValues. There is no call to a remote random-number service, which means there is no outbound request carrying your list along with it.

A practical consequence worth knowing: because nothing is stored on our side, we cannot recover a draw for you. If a result matters, copy it somewhere before you close the tab.

What is stored on your device

To save you re-typing the same list on every visit, most tools write their inputs to your browser’s localStorage under keys beginning rmr:. This data stays in your browser. It is not synced, not sent to us, and not readable by any other website.

Specifically, the site may keep:

• The contents of a tool’s input boxes, so your roster or wheel is still there next time.
• A short history of recent results — capped at the ten most recent entries per tool, with older ones discarded automatically.
• Your display preferences: light or dark theme, sound on or off, and whether to reduce motion.
• Cookies set by Google Analytics, with names beginning _ga. These are the only cookies the site causes to be set — the randomizers themselves use none.

You can delete all of it at any time. Every tool with a history has a Clear button next to it, and clearing site data for redmoonrandomizers.com in your browser settings removes everything the site has stored, including the preferences above.

The site is also an installable progressive web app, so your browser caches the page files themselves for offline use. That cache holds our HTML, CSS, JavaScript and fonts — not your lists — and is removed when you clear site data or uninstall the app.

What our host sees

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, serving a page involves Cloudflare receiving the request: your IP address, the URL requested, your user agent, and similar routing metadata. Cloudflare processes this to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack, under its own privacy terms. We do not build profiles from it, and it is not joined to anything you type into a tool.

The feedback form is the one place where a request carries content you wrote. When you submit it, the message and any contact address you choose to include are sent to a same-origin function that forwards them to our inbox. We use that only to answer you. Leaving the contact field blank still works — it just means we cannot reply.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see roughly how many people visit, which pages they land on, and which tools actually get used. We use it to decide which tools deserve more work — not to identify anyone, and not to build an advertising profile.

Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies in your browser, named _ga and _ga_<id>, so a second page view can be recognised as the same visit rather than a new one. It also derives an approximate location from your IP address; Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store the IP address itself. Nothing you type into a randomizer reaches it — the tools do not report their inputs or their results anywhere.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are denied by default. Until you agree — through the consent banner Google shows once advertising is enabled — no cookies are set at all, and Google receives only an anonymous, cookieless note that a page was viewed.

If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on, and any content blocker or browser tracking-protection setting will stop the script loading.

Advertising

No advertising is running on this site at the moment: no ad network code is loaded, no ad slot is filled, and no advertising cookie is set. We intend to enable Google AdSense, and this section describes what will happen when we do, so that nothing about it is a surprise. Google would fill a small number of slots — one below the tool and one in the sidebar on tool pages — acting as a third-party vendor that sets and reads the advertising cookies itself.

Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. Depending on your settings and location, those ads may be personalised — based on your prior visits to this or other websites — or non-personalised, which still involves a request to Google but is not based on an advertising profile.

You control this. Visit Google My Ad Center to manage or turn off ad personalisation across Google’s services, and aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu to opt out of personalised advertising from participating third-party vendors. Advertising never has access to what you type into a randomizer. Ad slots are separate elements on the page; the tool’s input is not passed to them.

Children

Some tools here are built for classrooms and family use — spelling lists, a student selector, kid-friendly would-you-rather prompts. They are designed for the adult running the room, and the site as a whole is a general-audience utility rather than a service directed at children.

We do not ask for names, ages, email addresses or any other personal detail, from anyone, at any age. Nothing typed into a tool reaches us, so we cannot knowingly collect personal information from a child even inadvertently. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the feedback form, write to feedback@redmoonsoftware.com and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Because we hold almost nothing, most data-protection requests resolve themselves: there is no account to delete and no stored list to export. You can remove everything on your side by clearing site data in your browser.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data we hold. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you rights to know and to delete, and a right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell personal information. Third parties we rely on

• Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery.
• Google Analytics — visitor statistics (see above).
• Google Privacy & messaging — the consent banner shown in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland once advertising is enabled.
• Google AdSense — advertising, when enabled (see above).

Fonts are self-hosted from this domain, so loading a page does not call out to a font CDN. Beyond the parties named here, the site loads no third-party scripts, embeds, or trackers, and its Content-Security-Policy restricts which origins a page is allowed to contact at all.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the site changes in a way that affects it — a new analytics provider, a change to advertising, a new feature that stores something different. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent substantive change. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the page for a period after they take effect.
