Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-08-12
These terms cover your use of redmoonrandomizers.com, a free collection of browser-based random pickers published by Redmoon Software. Using the site means accepting them. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable — but they are the actual terms.
The short version: use the randomizers for anything reasonable, free of charge, without an account. They run in your browser and the maths is fair. What we cannot promise is that any particular draw is the right answer for your situation — it is random, and the consequences of acting on it are yours.
What you may do
You may use every tool on this site for personal, educational, workplace, non-profit or commercial purposes, at no cost and without a licence: classroom activities, team selection, raffles and giveaways, livestreams, game nights, lesson planning, sprint ceremonies, whatever fits. You may show the tools on screen to an audience, and you may use their output — a draw order, a team split, a winner — however you like. No attribution is required, though a link is always welcome.
You may not attempt to disrupt the site or the people using it. That means no automated scraping at a volume that degrades service for others, no attempt to bypass or probe the security headers and Content-Security-Policy the site is served with, no denial-of-service, and no republishing the site wholesale as your own. Using a tool a hundred times because you are running a hundred draws is entirely fine; that is what it is for.
What a random result is and is not
The draws are cryptographically random. Picks come from the browser’s crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling to remove the modulo bias that a naive implementation introduces, so each item genuinely has an equal chance where a tool says it does. Where a tool weights or excludes items, its own page explains how.
That is a statement about the mathematics, not about your circumstances. A fair draw can still produce an outcome that is unwise, unlucky, or against the rules that apply to you. If you are running a prize promotion, a sweepstake, a lottery, a regulated selection process, or anything where money or legal obligations ride on the result, you are responsible for confirming that your method satisfies the rules in your jurisdiction, and for keeping whatever records those rules demand. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
Note in particular that most tools here do not produce a record you can later prove. Results are held in your browser and, for tools with a history, only the last ten are kept. If you need a draw you can demonstrate afterwards, use a tool that accepts a seed and keep the seed alongside your input list.
Availability
The site is provided free and is maintained on a best-effort basis. We may change, rename, or withdraw any tool, and we may take the site down for maintenance or permanently, without notice. Because everything runs client-side, a page you have already loaded — or installed as an app — will usually keep working offline regardless.
No warranty
The site and every tool on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that any result it produces will be suitable for a particular decision.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Redmoon Software will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site — including any decision made on the basis of a random result. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is nothing.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, including New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act in respect of consumers. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
Intellectual property and third-party names
The site’s design, code, written guides and blog articles are copyright Redmoon Software. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link; wholesale reproduction is not permitted.
Several tools reference names from games and other properties — Pokémon species, Genshin Impact characters, game maps, league franchises. Those names are the trademarks of their respective owners. The tools reference them descriptively so you can randomise your own play. Redmoon Software is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of those rights holders.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. Advertising, when enabled, is served by Google AdSense. Fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a font CDN. Each provider’s own terms and privacy policy govern the data its service processes; the Privacy page sets out what that amounts to in practice.
Changes
These terms may change as the site does. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent substantive change, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. If a change materially reduces your rights we will note it on this page.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
