About the Random Brain Break Generator
Short, physical and needing nothing
Every activity in the pool is a minute or two long, needs no equipment, and can be done beside a desk. That is a deliberate constraint: a brain break that requires clearing the room or fetching anything will not get used, because the moment you need it is the moment you have least capacity to organise something.
The pool holds enough activities that a class doing two a day will not see the same one for weeks, and the No repeats option guarantees a full pass before anything returns.
Why random beats your usual three
Every teacher has a handful of go-to breaks, and a class stops responding to them within a fortnight — the novelty is doing most of the work, and a familiar break is just a pause. Drawing at random keeps the surprise, which is the active ingredient.
It also removes a decision at exactly the moment you have no attention left to make one. Deciding which brain break to run is itself cognitive load; pressing a button is not.
